The man who says it can't be done should not interrupt the man doing it.
- Henry Ford
After decades of work in this field, we see all businesses as a combination of:
Products People Policies Procedures, and Processes.
We call these the "Five P's" and they are the five things that must be managed to have a successful business.
We like to say that we don't tell the carpenters how to build cabinets, nor do we tell contractors how to build houses. That is their expertise, not ours, and they have trade associations to help them in that area. However, we help experts like these improve their business operations - that is our specialty.
The "Five P's" of an organization must work together in order to deliver value to your customers. Your customers and these "Five P's" then determine the cash flow of your business.
Adjustments to these "Five P's" will require an investment of time, or money, or both, and they need to produce a positive effect on cash flow and eventually on the balance sheet. Collectively, this is what we call the business case for effective change.
To create effective change, we use a variety of management tools. Some of the management tools we have used for decades are listed below. If you feel conversant and comfortable with most of these, then perhaps you don't need our insight and coaching. If, however, you are not both familiar and comfortable with these tools, then some coaching might make life a little more pleasant for you.
As your business partner, we see ourselves as coaches (even Roger Federer, the most successful person ever in professional tennis, has a coach). Like us, Federer's coach has "been there", so he drills Roger on winning techniques and mind-sets, so that when any situation arises, Roger recognized and responds to it appropriately. That same confidence to execute under pressure, knowing you are responding properly, is our goal in working with you.
